Kobe Bryant Fractures Knee!
Kobe Bryant is expected to miss six weeks with a fracture of the lateral tibial plateau in his left knee, the Los Angeles Lakers announced Thursday.
Bryant suffered the injury Tuesday night during the visiting Lakers’ 96-92 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. The Lakers said Thursday that an MRI showed the fracture.
“All I can do is do the work. And do everything I can to be back at the highest level,” Bryant told ESPN.
Bryant will not require any surgical procedures on the knee, according to a source. It’s just a matter of letting the bone heal.
The injury is an undeniable blow to the Lakers, who in late November signed Bryant to a two-year, $48.5 million contract extension before the 35-year-old had made it back onto the court from a torn Achilles tendon he suffered in April.
“That’s too bad,” coach Mike D’Antoni said at the team’s practice Thursday. “You hate it for Kobe. He worked so hard to get back. But he’ll be back. He’ll be back in six weeks, and we’ll deal with it and weather the storm until he gets back.”
The injury news for the Lakers didn’t get any better regarding Steve Nash.
The team also announced Thursday that the veteran point guard — limited to just six games this season — will miss an additional four weeks because of nerve root irritation.
Nash was re-evaluated during the team’s just-completed road trip.
The Lakers moved fast to shore up their depleted backcourt, agreeing to a deal with Kendall Marshall on Thursday night, sources confirmed. Marshall, the 13th pick of the Phoenix Suns in the 2012 draft, had been playing with the Delaware 87ers of the NBA Development League after he was acquired off waivers earlier this month.
The deal with Marshall, a former star at North Carolina, was first reported by Yahoo! Sports.
Bryant, meanwhile, entered the 2013-14 campaign hoping to become the first player to rupture an Achilles and make it all the way back to All-Star status since Dominique Wilkins in 1992-93.
He returned to the court Dec. 8 — in L.A.’s 20th game of the season — and was averaging 13.8 points and 6.3 assists in six games, shooting 42.5 percent from the field and averaging 29.5 minutes. He tied his season high with 21 points on 9-of-18 shooting in Tuesday’s win against the Grizzlies, hitting a deep 3-pointer late in the fourth quarter to help clinch the win.
Prior to that big shot, Bryant went to the floor with 3:25 left in the third quarter. He stayed on the floor briefly before standing up, and Bryant bent over at the waist as he flexed his left leg back and forth. He walked to the bench with trainer Gary Vitti but returned to the floor following the timeout.
Bryant said after the game, in which he played a season-high 33 minutes, that he kind of twisted his knee but it felt all right.
“I just hyperextended it,” Bryant said when asked to describe what happened on the play. “I tend to hyperextend my knees every now and then.”
D’Antoni said Thursday that he didn’t think Bryant came back too soon from the Achilles injury.
“There’s always a risk until he gets completely used to playing,” he said. “But the doctors were all over it. Nah, that’s just bad luck.”
The Lakers are 2-4 since Bryant returned. They entered Thursday’s play at 12-13 and in 11th place in the Western Conference.
“It’s tough when you get in a streak like that,” Lakers center Pau Gasol said. “He was fighting through and getting through the process of getting back on the floor after tearing his Achilles, and now you get this fracture. It’s very hard for me as a teammate, as his friend, to understand that that happened to him. But what can you do? He’s tough enough. He’ll get through it and be back and ready to play.”
Many across the NBA felt for Bryant after news of his latest injury spread Thursday.
Added Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau: “It’s unfortunate. You hate to see it. He’s coming off the Achilles and he’s such a great competitor. It’s bad for the league — but he’ll bounce back. He’s got a lot of toughness.”
Los Angeles signed Bryant to a lavish two-year, $48.5 million contract extension last month, taking him into his 20th season with the team.
If Bryant does miss the next six weeks, the Lakers will have paid him about $14.8 million this season for games he didn’t play (40 total). None of that money is insured; to begin insurance coverage a player must miss 41 consecutive games with the same injury.
The Lakers’ backcourt has been hit by injuries all season, forcing the team to use 10 different starting lineups this season, fifth-most in the NBA, according to ESPN Stats & Information.
Steve Blake tore the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow earlier this month and is out at least another five weeks. Jordan Farmar has been out since Dec. 1 after tearing his left hamstring and isn’t expected back for at least another week.
D’Antoni said Thursday that Xavier Henry will play point guard for the time being.
Nash, meanwhile, hasn’t played since Nov. 10. He said Thursday that he felt “pretty close to 100 percent” after practicing for three days earlier this month but that feeling dissipated quickly.
The 39-year-old veteran said the goal now is to “take a step back, take a longer sample and try to prove to myself that my back can sustain the game of basketball.”
“I just want to play, that’s what gets me through every day,” he said. “I want to play, I still love to play, and I still feel like I have the skills to do it. I’d like to finish my career on a positive note. I’m just fighting every day to get that little bit of joy from playing basketball and being one of the guys, running up and down the court and trying to beat somebody. That’s what keeps me going every day.”
Lotto Winner’s Family In Danger?
A Bronx native will take the money after she won half of the $648 million Mega Millions jackpot — and her sisters back home say they’re going to run.
Georgia resident Ira Curry, 56, has come forward as one of the two winners who will take home a massive chunk of the lottery windfall.
Curry will take the cash option and, after taxes, will rake in about $120 million, Georgia Lottery Corporation president and CEO Debbie Alford said at a press conference from Atlanta on Wednesday.
“They were very, very excited about the win,” she said. “They’re still in a state of shock.”
Curry did not know of her win until this morning. She heard on the radio that the Mega Ball number was 7, the one she had picked, Alford said. Curry called her daughter, who read off the rest of the winning numbers through “joyful tears and laughter,” Alford said.
“I asked her how she kept from veering off the road and she said she was just in a state of disbelief,” Alford said.
But the payday, while spectacularly exciting, is sending her sisters scurrying from the spotlight — and the Boogie Down borough.
“I’m stunned,” Curry’s sister, Jalunda Baker Price, told the Daily News inside her first-floor apartment in Lambert Houses on E. 179th St. “It’s just really hitting me, like it’s really true.”
Curry, an insurance company underwriter, now lives in Stone Mountain, Ga. But her Bronx brethren — Price and another sister, Brenda Baker, who still live in the apartment they all moved into 40 years ago — played a part in her unexpected bonanza. The married mom bought one ticket, using a combination of Baker family birthdays and the family’s lucky number, seven.
Curry came forward with her golden ticket around 11 a.m. Wednesday, 12 hours after the drawing. The shocking win unsettled her sisters.
They told The News they’re thrilled for Curry, but worried about the sudden attention. By Wednesday afternoon, the frantic sisters were making rushed plans to move, possibly even out-of-state.
“We’re happy, but look at where we live,” said Brenda Baker, motioning to the public housing building. “Our lives could be in jeopardy. It’s happy, it’s joyous, but we have to protect ourselves.”
Though Curry now lives like “a Southern belle” in her Atlanta suburb, her sisters said, they were all raised by a single mother in West Farms.
“My mother raised us by herself,” said Price, 48. “We’re very close. (Curry) is a Southern belle. She looks just like Halle Berry. She shares, she’s really nice. She’s such a sweet lady, she deserves the money.”
After Curry heard on the radio that the Mega ball number was 7, she immediately called her daughter, Georgia Lottery Corp. president Debbie Alford said.
Curry’s excited daughter read off the rest of the winning numbers through “joyful tears and laughter,” Alford said.
The new multimillionaire’s sisters are still awaiting details.
“She only had time to call us this morning to let us know,” said Price. “We really haven’t talked about it.”
Curry, who couldn’t be reached for comment, will split the jackpot with a California winner who has yet to come forward.
Records show the lucky player and her husband, Talmer Curry, 74, filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy in 1994. That type of bankruptcy filing allows the debtor to repay creditors in installments over three to five years. The case was discharged in 1999.
Curry bought her ticket at Gateway News, in Atlanta, but the owners won’t receive any bonus for selling the winning ticket because of Georgia state lottery rules.
The winning numbers were: 8, 14, 17, 20, 39; Mega Ball: 7.
The jackpot was the second-largest lottery prize in U.S. history.

A Republican congressman from Georgia who is hoping to be party’s next Senate nominee said over the weekend that poor children should have to pay or sweep floors if they wanted to eat school lunches.
While campaigning for the Republican presidential nomination in 2011, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich also floated the idea of replacing unionized janitors with children during a talk at Harvard’s Kennedy School.
Rumors Fly That Amina Buddafly is Pregnant by Peter Gunz
It has yet to be officially announced, but according to Bossip, The Breakfast Club's Angela Yee has claimed that Amina Buddafly is pregnant with Peter Gunz's child. The confirmation of the pregnancy is rumored to come to light during the Love & Hip-Hop New York reunion show when it airs. They also reported that Erica Mena and Nya Lee may have thrown hands at the reunion and that Nya made Erica hit the snooze button.
Billboard Honoring Nelson Mandela Shows Image of Morgan Freeman
An Indian businessman wanting to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela may have had good intentions at heart, but that didn't stop people for going in on him for mistaking actor Morgan Freeman for the late great leader of South Africa.
The unidentified man financed a large billboard honoring Mandela, comparing him to Gandhi, Mother Teresa, and Martin Luther King, Jr. However, he got one major detail very wrong -- the person displayed on the billboard was Morgan Freeman. To be fair, Freeman played Mandela in the 2009 film "Invictus," but it was still a glaring mistake.
"We should be proud that we were part of an era when they lived," reads the Tamil-language sign posted in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
The owner of the billboard assured news outlets that he would replace it with the correct picture, blaming the designer for the gaff.
Beyonce Wylds Out at Dave & Busters for Album Release Party
Beyonce decided to have some fun to celebrate the release of her new self-titled album with a big blow-out at Dave & Busters in Times Square. She was joined by fans and friends, including Drake and supermodel Jessica White, who also appeared in the video for "XO."
At one point at the party Drake addressed the crowd, saying "I just came out tonight to let you know congratulations to each and every one of you that worked on this shit, for real. And of course to the queen, the utmost congratulations."
Guests had a blast at the bash, playing arcade games, noshing on "Beyonce" cupcakes, and sipping drinks out of cups with the Queen's name emblazoned on them.
UW Battle League "The Face Off": Lux vs Hollow & More (Recap)
The Ultimate Warrior Battle League "Face Off" event for the January 26th, 2014, Loaded Lux vs Hollow Da Don "High Stakes" battle card was a huge success and attracted a massive turn-out from fans and media personnel alike. Aside from the brief altercation between Hollow Da Don and John John Da Don (I'll address that shortly), "The Face Off" succeeded in contributing greatly to the hype behind the most anticipated battle in the history of Battle Rap. I, VladTV Battle Rap journalist Michael Hughes, was on the scene conducting interviews and capturing exclusive footage from the event.
I arrived at the Studio 34 venue in Orange, New Jersey, courtesy of Naughty By Nature's Vin Rock and Hip-Hop personality and radio host Simone "Boss Lady" Amelia, and jumped right into the media jungle amidst the battlers and fellow camera crews. Our first interview was with the fast rising and highly respected St. Louis battler B-Magic, where he spoke on his pending battle with Daylyt on the "High Stakes" card, and his battle with Ill Will the day prior at the "Born Legacy" event. In response to Magic, my interview with the always entertaining Daylyt consisted of him revealing that he'll be bringing "The Matrix" to his battle with B-Magic, and he also spoke on his controversial "Paul Walker" music video.
I also conducted interviews with Ray Swag and Calicoe before locking in an interview with Loaded Lux. Lux spoke humbly about his pending battle with Hollow Da Don and how he believes that both he and Hollow will rise above the pressure that rests on their shoulders for this battle to make it the classic that it has the potential to be. In true Lux fashion he spoke with that smooth preacher-like style that as I've always joked with him, sounds like he's delivering a prophesy.
After all of the interviews had concluded, some very entertaining UW Draft battles took place where the talents of aspiring battle MC's with a lesser-known name were showcased in full. Two new talents, A.B.U. and Nice, won the remaining two spots available on the "High Stakes" card by participating in 3-round judged battles. It was after all of the Draft battles concluded that the dramatic face-offs took place.
First up was Daylyt against B-Magic, with host Jay Black from the comedic YouTube battle reaction videos. They both remained rather calm during their face-off but made their confidence within their ability to defeat the other known to the audience of Battle Rap fans and media alike. Daylyt provided the crowd with some classic humor, as he jokingly yet very seriously stated that he will be bringing "The Matrix" to the UW stage, and that he and Magic will disappear into thin air during the battle and return with Daylyt standing in a victory pose.
The next face-off to take place was between Hitman Holla and O-Red, who each turned up on the other and got the crowd riled up. Together they barked back-and-forth sending verbal jabs firing across the table that could potentially end up appearing in the form of battle bars when they step into the ring. Calicoe vs Tsu Surf was next, and this might've been the most entertaining stare down and trash talking session yet, for both Surf and Cal really got heated during their pre-battle shouting match.
Surf got personal with Calicoe when he brought up his father, which lead to both battlers rising from their seats and engage in an intense shouting match which nearly had them jumping across the table at each others throats. Shortly after they sat back down is when the altercation occurred between John John and Hollow.
Without going into too much detail and taking away from the positive energy of the event, as Hollow stated in his blog, he swung first at John John over issues stemming from their past. The pair exchanged blows and wound up slamming into a glass mirror which broke and ended with a tussling match on the floor before the altercation was broken up. They were separated and after the tension in the air had died down, John John left the venue out of respect for the event and the culture of Battle Rap as a whole. In a mutual show of respect, Hollow apologized to the staff for what happened and the face-off between him and Lux continued as planned.
While it is customary of Lux to maintain a calm and poised demeanor, Hollow on the other hand carried the weight of the face-off as he actually got personal with Lux. He jabbed at Lux by hinting at his age and also told the crowd that he plans on exposing the man, John Lux, behind the street preacher persona he gives off. If Hollow really comes at Lux with serious personals during the battle, it'll only make it that much more interesting and classic, for exposing personals regarding Lux's life is a tactic that has never really been utilized by past opponents.
The UW Battle League "High Stakes" event is looking promising. Footage from the event captured by VladTV cameras will be releasing in the near future, as will the official UW face-offs. Riff Raff Beefs With Hot 97's Ebro Over Beats Contest Winner
Riff Raff and Hot 97 program director Ebro have had a rough time seeing eye to eye since the Houston rapper appeared on the radio show back in May, and Riff didn't hold back his feelings about the station's recent "Battle of the Beats" contest. Riff Raff was up against Ashanti in the battle and in the end, Ashanti was named the winner.
The Mad Decent rapper felt that he won the contest, and took a screenshot of the Hot 97 website, showing that he had more votes than Ashanti in the contest.

Duck Dynasty Star Suspended; Says Gays Wouldn't Go to Heaven
"Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson has been suspended from the reality program following remarks he made in the latest edition of GQ magazine. In an interview in the January issue of GQ, the reality television star equated same-sex relationships with bestiality. He also said that Gays 'won't inherit the kingdom of God'.
"It seems like, to me, a vagina — as a man — would be more desirable than a man's anus, that's just me," the reality star said. "I'm just thinking: There's more there! She's got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I'm saying? But hey, sin: It's not logical, my man. It's just not logical."
Robertson took it even further: "Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there," he explained when asked by GQ what exactly he considered sinful, "bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men."
"We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson's comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series 'Duck Dynasty,'" A&E Networks said in a statement. "His personal views in no way reflect those of A&E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community."
It wasn't long until the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation to fire back at the outspoken hunter. "Phil and his family claim to be Christian, but Phil's lies about an entire community fly in the face of what true Christians believe," GLAAD spokesman Wilson Cruz responded in a statement.
Teens Attempt to Make Marijuana Wax, Cause Explosion
Two Brooklyn teenagers were severely injured early yesterday (Dec. 18th) after their attempt to make a potent concentrate of marijuana ended in an explosion. The Daily News reports that a teenage couple suffered second and third degree burns when one of them lit a cigarette while they soaked a thirty gallon tub of marijuana with butane in a garage.
"Their lungs are good . . . but from the waist up, all burned," the girl's mother says. "Her hands, too. She could be in the hospital for a year. She needs surgery. The doctors said it will get worse every day."
Police say they found a "large amount" of marijuana, plants, storage containers, glass pans, and butane in the garage. One neighbor said of the 2:22 a.m. explosion, "We could see the flames and hear people yelling for help."
The substance the couple may have been trying to produce is ear wax hash or "honey oil," which has been a popular prong of the "dabbing" craze in the marijuana world.
Beyonce's New Album "Beyonce" Sells One Million Worldwide
Not only was Beyonce able to release a surprise album that nobody saw coming, she was also able to sell a million copies worldwide after just days of it being on sale. It hasn't even been a full week, and without the help of any real promotion, her talent alone was able to grab the attention of her fans and lock down platinum sales. Her self titled album which comes fully equipped with music videos for each song, has reached the one million selling mark with only having the album available for purchase on iTunes. Physical copies of the album have just been released to stores today and it will surely boost her sales.
Liza Morales Shuts Down Rumors, Refuses to Take Lamar Odom Back
There may be no more hope for Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian, so does that mean Lamar will be given another shot with his ex? According to her, the answer to that question is a definitive "no."
"The new rumors [of a reconciliation] are so ridiculously false, they are actually somewhat comedic," Liza told fans on Twitter on Wednesday, December 18, according to a Radar Online report. "Being cordial is always beneficial when children are involved."
Although Liza and Lamar aren't heading for a reconciliation, Lamar will reportedly spend the holidays with her and their three children. Destiny, his oldest, recently spoke out about her father's divorce, telling fans that she was excited to have her dad all to herself now.
Rehab Working? Chief Keef Says He Doesn't "Sip Lean" Anymore
It is reported that Chief Keef is nearly a third of the way through the rehab program after his lawyers talked the judge to let him complete his treatment out of state. His Lawyers also said that Chief Keef's record label Interscope agreed to pay the $160,000 cost of the rehab stay. And according to Keef himself, he has also quit drinking lean, the popular recreational drug. Looks like the rehab is actually working for the young Chicago rapper.
Keef took to Twitter to confirm this, writing, "King Keef Has no Genre Nor Language #JusGloTalk Understand Or suck my Duck Oan I don't sip lean nomo."

“Knockout Game” Man Arrested?
Cops cuffed a 20-year-old Long Island man earlier this month in relation to several “knockout”-style assaults dating back to at least April, according to reports.
Darryl Mitchell, of Amityville, could face at least seven counts in the assaults on victims ranging in age from 17 to 69, WABC-TV reports.
Mitchell was arrested Dec. 4. He pleaded not guilty to four counts of third-degree assault and has since been held in a Suffolk County jail in lieu of $50,000 bail, according to the county district attorney’s office.
The assaults reportedly occurred in the Amityville and Babylon sections of Suffolk County. The most recent assault happened within the last two weeks, the TV station reports.
Mitchell is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
The knockout “game,” which has been reported around the country, involves young people trying to knock a stranger unconscious with a single punch.

SOUTHINGTON, MA – A Bristol woman with ties to accused killer Aaron Hernandez died Monday, fewer than six months after she survived the car crash that killed a man married to the former New England Patriot’s cousin.
Tabitha Perry, 27 previously was interviewed by Massachusetts law enforcement probing the June 17 shooting death of Odin Lloyd.
Twitter Relentlessly Makes Fun of Chris Brown's New Look
A new photo of Chris Brown has surfaced online and the Internet subsequently showed no remorse for his recent troubles. The photo depicts Brown with shades and blond hair looking a bit emaciated. One Twitter user joked, writing "Chris Brown looks like he on meth" while another wrote "Chris Brown looks like he doesn't even have teeth in that pic. My word".
Peter Gunz to Stevie J: My Pedigree of Women Is Different
The comparisons and similarities between Peter Gunz and Stevie J may be stark, but that isn't sitting well with the "Love & Hip-Hop" star. In a recent interview with VH1, Gunz wanted to finally set the record straight. Gunz told VH1 outside of the reality TV world, he and Stevie J are nothing alike, and even brought the type of women they're associated with.
It bothers me a little bit because they say I'm trying to be Stevie J. I understand the comparison – two women, he's with the side chick, you know, it bothers me a little bit because I never watched Love & Hip Hop Atlanta but I knew immediately that my story line was along the lines of his because I had producers and everyone around me saying 'Oh, we've got another Stevie J-Joseline-Mimi thing,'" he said.

Miley Cyrus isn't too thrilled with everyone assuming she's linked to anyone she shows attention to. The "Wrecking Ball" singer was spotted hugging rapper French Montana at MSG on Dec. 14 and once the photos went viral she posted an angry message to her over 16 million Twitter followers. According to HollywoodLife.com, who spoke to an eyewitness, Miley and French Montana were definitely getting cozy together. "Miley was doing some post-show flirting with French Montana before leaving MSG and heading to the after-party." The eyewitness went on to say: "She was grinding on his lap... They were getting super close and flirting while drinking out of the same cup."
George Zimmerman Paints a Picture, Hits Over $100,000 on eBay
Bids on an original painting by George Zimmerman, the man found not guilty of second-degree murder and manslaughter in Trayvon Martin's death, have reached over $100,000 on eBay. The painting is of an American flag done on canvas with a mixture of light and dark blues with words written on the stripes in white letters from the Pledge of Allegiance. The words include "God, One Nation, with Liberty and Justice For All."
Underneath the description on eBay, Zimmerman writes, "Everyone has been asking what I have been doing with myself. I found a creative, way to express myself, my emotions and the symbols that represent my experiences."

Jay Z Lands Two Tracks on Google's 10 Most Searched Songs List
Jay Z's "Magna Carta Holy Grail" was one of the most talked about albums of the year, and two of the songs, "Holy Grail," and "Tom Ford," were among the ten most searched songs on Google this year. The search engine sent out a ranking of the top ten tracks that people were searching the most, and while Macklemore's "Thrift Shop" was the most searched rap song at #3, Jay was the only artist with two songs on the list.
In other rankings, "Thrift Shop" was the most streamed song on Spotify and the most popular song across all Billboard genres. YMCMB rapper Drake also made his way to the top of online rankings, as he was the second most Googled person of the year, coming in right behind Miley Cyrus.
Chief Keef Bashes the Industry: "I'm Glo Gang EBK"
Chicago rapper Chief Keef has slammed the music industry, announcing on Twitter that he's not "f*cking with the industry," and saying he's identifying himself as "Glo Gang EBK" now. While Keef was an independent artist when he first started out, he was signed to Interscope in 2012, which was reported to bring him up to $6 million if sales goals were met.
While he hasn't crossed over into mainstream success, Keef still managed to sell 300,000 copies of his debut "Finally Rich," which he also pointed out on Instagram. He wrote, "I deserve a lot man. I sold 300thousand Copies. All that sh*t Talkin I know I'm such a big Deal No Promotions, no commercials, And No Tour. Still Sold 300k Copies Almighty."
Kelly Rowland Finally Announces Engagement to Tim Witherspoon
Kelly Rowland has been playing coy with the media about her engagement to Tim Witherspoon, but spilled the beans to Queen Latifah about her secret. The "Kisses Down Low" singer revealed that the two had kept it a secret for a couple of years after Tim proposed via Skype.
"It's been a while. We've kept it very, very low—for years, to be completely honest. He asked me first on Skype and I was like, 'We're so far away from each other.' But it was so late, I remember we were both just kinda like, honestly, just staring at each other. And he asked me, and it was just that simple to say yes. I was like, 'I got my best friend to ride through life with.' He really is my best friend."

Khloe Dating Again?
A source not only confirms to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that Khloe and Matt have been looking up, but the insider also says that the two are totally open to the fling blossoming into a full-on relationship.
Khloe Kardashian likely knew far in advance that she’d be divorcing Lamar Odom (she finally did on Dec. 13), because she has already locked down another Los Angeles athlete, baseball player Matt Kemp.
But just how serious is the budding relationship?
Khloe Files For Divorce
Khloe Kardashian has filed for divorce from estranged husband Lamar Odom after four years of marriage, TMZ reports.
The reality star filed divorce papers Friday (Dec. 13) to split from Odom.
“It was a recent decision,” a source close to the couple told People magazine.
“She’s been holding out hope but she has to look out for herself.”
Reports surfaced early Friday that the 29-year-old would finally end their union after spending months apart from the NBA star, who has reportedly been battling drug addiction.
“Khloe has been very, very hurt by everything,” a source previously told E! News about the relationship.
“There is a lot about Lamar that she is just learning and if they have any chance of making this work, there is a lot they need to come to terms with.”
The reality star married the former Los Angeles Lakers player back in 2009 after just one month of dating.
Problems first arose this past summer when it was reported Odom went missing.
TMZ claimed he was using crack cocaine.
Since then, the two have been living apart.
Last month, a bizarre video surfaced showing Odom rapping, saying: “And when Khloe’s out of town/ I still be on the DL.”
Their marital issues will play out on Season 9 of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” a teaser released earlier this month revealed.
Last season hinted at some major trouble in paradise, with Odom acting paranoid and Kardashian discussing the disease of drug addiction.
“Lamar has been having a really tough time lately, and it’s not just black and white,” Kardashian said in one episode.
“There’s a lot of emotional issues.
It’s really scary when nothing’s really working and then you know, if you give up, no one in his life would be able to help.”
Kardashian has been posting telling quotes to her Instagram account for months.
Her most recent ones have been particularly emotional.
Lamar Odom's Daughter Disses Marriage to Khloe Kardashian
Lamar Odom's daughter is more than happy that her father is no longer with Khloe Kardashian. The reality star filed for divorce last week, after months of being estranged from her NBA husband. Rumors have been continuing for the past few months that Odom has been cheating and indulging in substance abuse. In November, he admitted to cheating on Kardashian in a bizarre rap video while drunk. Now, Odom's daughter Destiny is responding to the situation. "No one thought they were going to last, so honestly, who [cares]," she wrote on her ask.fm page, when a fan asked her about the divorce. Destiny is Odom's daughter from his relationship with "Starter Wives" star Liza Morales. The two were childhood sweethearts. When asked about any chance of Kardashian and Odom reconciling "I don't want it to happen anyways," she wrote. "I have him all to myself now!" "It's called a PRENUP and [thank God] for it," his daughter concluded, implying that the NBA player will not lose money in the settlement.
